Rana Beiruti

Independent curator and creative consultant

Rana Beiruti is a consultant in the creative industries and an independent curator based in Amman, Jordan. She has consulted on the development of several wide-reaching strategies and educational programs targeted at the creative industries. With a background in architecture, her curatorial work lies at the intersection of knowledge production, cultural engagement, and community development. Her research interests revolve around land-based and social practices in the region, with a focus on topics related to land, material, craft, and the urban landscape.

As a consultant, she works on creative projects that range from creative strategy, branding, institution building, educational programming, curating and designing exhibitions, and support for start-ups in the creative industry.  She currently sits on the board of Beit Al Bawadi and the advisory board of Darat al Funun - The Khalid Shoman Foundation. Rana was the previous director of Amman Design Week, the largest non-commercial flagship event for design in the region, which she co-founded in 2016. Amman Design Week occurred biennially with a program of large-scale curated exhibitions, commissioned installations, urban interventions, workshops, talks, and cultural activities.
