Career History
With her extensive experience in the non-profit sector, Lamia has gained significant knowledge in navigating the complexities and challenges of social impact programming that is often affected by changing environments.
She is the founder, board member and manager of a national Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), that has become one of the leading national NGOs in Jordan with regard to beneficiaries' reach, social impact, as well as securing revenue streams independent of donor funding. She has led the Musa Al Saket Development Organization (MSDO) post COVID-19 crisis through creating new programs that helped with the challenges local communities faced with food security and education due to lockdowns and established a hydroponic farm and a Montessori training room for children, bridging the knowledge gaps in these areas and creating job opportunities for women.
Over the past 15 years, she has raised funds over one million USD in projects for the NGO to serve the local community, some of which have been fully sustainable and are successfully running, such as Salt Children’s Park, and Ezwetna productive kitchen for women. For her efforts in leading the NGO through a youth-focused project - the Youth Advancement for a Peaceful and Productive Tomorrow - she was invited to speak at an event in the United Nations General Assembly in 2019.
Lamia also consulted in the field of social development with national, regional and international organizations, helping them build concrete strategies for their interventions, and helping them make a significant turnaround in their sources of income and position to serve the local community in an impactful and sustainable way.
